This collage was created for a mother to give to her daughter and son-in-law who are currently living in Europe. It was to be a Christmas present. She had her daughter send me many, many pictures of their travels. There were SO many pictures, but with some help from the daughter as to which were their favorites, I sifted through and selected the photos to use. I was at a loss for what to use as a background image, however, because most of the photos were of one place and didn’t really capture the idea of the collage being of many places. I finally decided on a map, passed the idea on to the mother and was given a go ahead to use a stock image of a map. Upon completing it, the mother forwarded on the collage to the daughter, who gave me some of the best compliments I have yet to receive. After going through several rounds of changes and eliminating and adding some photos, we got to the final piece you see here.
